Choosing
the Right Power Scooter

Spring
is here and it is always a good experience to get outdoors and enjoy
the wonderful weather. A power scooter
can help provide freedom and independence to people with limited mobility.
For the years that I have been at CWI Medical, one of the most popular
questions that I hear from our customers is “How do I know which
Power Scooter is right for me?” It’s true that there are
many different types of scooters to choose from and getting the right
one to fit your needs can be a little bit tricky. Drive Medical, a leading
manufacturer of medical equipment, provides a complete line of high
quality, affordable Power Scooters and Wheelchairs.
The Daytona 3-Wheel Power Scooter
is a beautiful looking medium-sized scooter complete with headlight,
comfortable swivel seat and an impressive 20 mile cruising range. The
tires are flat free, meaning you will never have to replace them. The
40” turning radius makes it perfect for indoor and outdoor use.
The frame is extremely durable and sleek looking. Easy controls make
it a breeze to operate. The Daytona 3-Wheel Power Scooter is available
in red and blue. The Daytona is also available in a 4-Wheel
model.
If you are looking for something more compact, a great inexpensive choice
is the Hawk Compact Scooter.
The Hawk is a 3-wheel Scooter like the Daytona, but is more lightweight
and easily transportable. Easy to operate speed control and thumb throttle
make it ideal for indoor or outdoor use. The Hawk also comes with a
front mounted basket, LCD headlight, flat free tires, and a cable free
battery that operates by contact.
For anyone that likes to cruise, the ultimate in luxury and style is
the Gladiator GT. The Gladiator
GT is a heavy duty power scooter with fully adjustable suspension, 10
inch pneumatic tires, and a large captain seat with adjustable height
and width arms. The Gladiator comes standard with head and rear lights,
shock absorbers and anti-tippers that prevent the scooter from falling
over. Two 36 amp batteries power the Gladiator and a 5 amp charger powers
the batteries quickly. The Gladiator GT has a top speed of 6 mph with
indoor and outdoor speed mode.
The Cirrus Plus EC Power Chair
looks more like a standard wheelchair and has an integrated, programmable
PG controller and adjustable length joystick mount. It also features
an attractive carbon steel frame with a silver vein finish. The foldable,
lightweight frame makes portability and transportation easy and convenient.
The Cirrus Plus comes standard with seat belt, seat cushion with pouch,
calf straps and heel loops. Padded back upholstery and cushioned seat
makes the Cirrus Plus an extremely comfortable ride.
Drive Medical has many other power scooters available for people with
different needs. If you have any questions about power scooters, please
